Project idea
Stage work is always associated with movement: rehearsals, performances, changes of locations. Together with the team, technical equipment is constantly moving as well.
BOXO implemented a project for the Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theatre for the second time. This time the task was not only storage of equipment, but creating a solution that simplifies daily work with it.
It was about a large format - a case which by dimensions and functionality is closer to a mobile cabinet than to a classic transport solution.
Task
It was necessary to create a system that organizes work with sound equipment in different scenarios: storage, transportation, and use during preparation for performances.
The solution had to be intuitively understandable in use and not require additional actions before starting work.
Challenge
The main difficulty was in organization. Theatre equipment is a set of different devices that constantly change configuration, move, and are used in an intensive mode.
It was necessary to combine all elements into a single system that systematizes different types of equipment and remains convenient in daily work. And at the same time maintains mobility and durability in use.
Solution
BOXO developed a large-format case that combines the functions of storage, transportation, and a working area.
The construction предусматривает opening at 180°, which allows quick access to all equipment. The internal space is organized according to a modular principle: pull-out drawers and separate compartments with individual inserts for microphones, transmitters, and headsets.
Additionally, the case performs the role of a working surface - removable lids transform into zones for equipment preparation, and built-in sockets allow immediate connection of the equipment.
As a result, the case not only stores the equipment, but structures the work with it.
Result
The case integrated into the theatre’s workflow and simplified preparation for performances. In fact, this solution performs the role of a mobile technical station that combines storage and work with equipment in one format.
